Personally, I love drinking water. Outside of my morning smoothie or an occasional cup of tea or fruit juice drink it’s the only liquid I put down. I probably guzzle about a gallon a day. Increasing my water intake has done wonders for me and I’m convinced it will do the same for you too. So, here are some real good reasons why I drink more H2O and you should too!
1. Helps Me Lose Weight
OK. I don’t really have much weight to lose, but you might! Many people are looking for ways to shed some pounds. Drinking more water is an easy way to drop some LB’s. First of all, water has ZERO calories. Nuf’ said for you calorie counters. It also helps curb our appetite and decrease our hunger by making us feel full more quickly. Try drinking a glass of water before a meal and you may notice a slight reduction in appetite.
2. Improves My Digestion and Reduces Constipation
OK. I’m not constipated either, but you might be! About 80 percent of people suffer from constipation at some point. Water will help relieve or reduce the frequency of constipation. It will also improve your bowel functioning. By drinking more water you’ll be able to get last week’s dinner out of your belly! This will also help you lose weight by helping remove excess fecal matter from your intestines.
3. Increases My Energy and Gets Rid of Toxins
Drinking more water keeps your body well hydrated. The more hydrated your body the more energy you will have. I hardly go anywhere without my H20. It comes in handy whenever I need a pick me up; especially during exercise. It will also help rid your body of toxins and dilute your body’s waste products. This will reduce the development of things such as kidney stones and other ailments.
4. Reduces Pain and Sickness
Headaches, back pain, and muscles spasms are often linked to dehydration. By drinking more water we will reduce the likelihood of these occurring or at least the severity if they do occur. It will even help reduce the length of a common cold or flu. I remember a friend of mine had a cold. He followed the advice of drinking more water as the remedy and by the next day he hardly had the sniffles. He attributed his increase water intake within the last 24 hours as the reason. Years ago, I had a bad headache that subsided in less than 15 minutes after I began to get my water game right.
5. It’s a lot healthier…
Than drinking some junky juice or nasty soda! When drinking purified water, we don’t have to worry about added artificial sweeteners (aspartame, sucralose – more on those later), excess sugars, or caffeine to keep us addicted and looking in 100 directions when having a normal conversation.
Most people’s chief complaint about water is its lack of taste. Personally, I think water does have a taste…it tastes like water! But, seriously, I do understand. These days I notice they sell a variety of different products to make water taste more flavorful. Or you could also just flavor it yourself with lemon, lime, or a slight twist of some other fruit you may like.
If you are looking to live a healthier lifestyle then drinking more purified water is a must.
